Indoor vs. Outdoor Dogs

There are many ideas when it comes to pet ownership that are often debated.  One such question deals with owning a pet dog.  This question asks whether dogs are meant to be indoor or outdoor pets.  In this post I will cover some points that are often made for both sides of the equation, but I want to ask you, my readers, what your opinion is on the topic.

Here are some points that are often discussed on the indoor dogs side of the debate:
Dogs are big on attention, and are able to form a closer bond with the family when indoors.
If there is inclement weather, dogs are kept safe when indoors compared to outdoors.
Studies have shown that children are less likely to have allergies if they grow up around pets.

Here are some points that are often discussed on the outdoor dogs side of the debate:
Dogs need to be outside to maintain a healthy level of exercise which helps to maintain their health and avoid obesity.
Having dogs outside can help them to avoid boredom by always having space to run around and little animals to chase.
Dogs need space to roam and be free and not be confined to the small quarters of a home.

These are just some of the points that are often made from each side of the debate between indoor and outdoor dogs.  So, what do you think?  Do you believe that dogs should live outdoors or be brought into the home?  Post your civil and thoughtful comments down below!
